COC: Road to Town Hall 8! Part 3: Base designs and sacrifices (Day 10)

To me: Base Designing is hard af holy moly.
A good base = good progress and less resources lost. When designing your base, you need to consider which route you want to go. There are 3 types that are the most commonly used.

  • Trophy Base: Used to conserve trophies and keep gaining trophies from defenses, at the expense of losing resources, as the Storages are used as high HP buildings to tank troops (like War bases)
  • Farming Bases: Focus on keeping resources safe and getting the least amount of Gold and Elixir stolen, at the cost of frequent losses and dropping trophies. There are 2 variations: The Normal one (Gold and Elixir, with a minor focus on Dank Elixir), and Dank Elixir Farming (Main priority to protect is Dank Elixir Storage). The Town Hall is usually less protected to make space for the Storages and defenses to protect them.
  • Hybrid: A combo of the last 2, giving your base a good amount of each. Semi-Inconsistent however.
Your base has to use one of these in order to succeed at its job, otherwise it will fail constantly.
I myself chose a Farming Base, more specific a Dank Elixir Farming Base, since it keeps it protected most of the time (aside from the ocassional attack that manages to get in and raid 400+ Dank Elixir, but it still works most of the time), but today i decided to try out a different base. Lets just say it didnt really went... Well.
Lost a bit of Dank Elixir, which i regained from Raiding, but still. The pic above is the setup i used, but as of writing this, have now switched back to the old one yall saw yesterday.
I also dont lose as much Gold and Elixir as you might think. For every attack, i lost about 100,000-180,000 depending on how much i got at the time. Sometimes more, and sometimes less. Dank Elixir on the other hand, is lost about 75-150, and of course the ocassional 300-500 if they manage to get into the compartment of the Dank Elixir Storage.

In every base however, theres always gonna be some sacrifice. In Farming for example, you sacrifice Trophies and, in the case of my base, some Gold and Elixir. For Trophy bases its the opposite: More Trophies, but less Gold and Elixir (and even Dank Elixir!).

Anyways, enough rambling about bases. Lets get on with the progress.
So i ended up reaching the Max Elixir capacity, which is 2.2 million, so i decided to spend 2 million of it to get a Lvl 3 Dank Elixir Drill! Will take a few days, but way worth it. Giant Lvl 4 is a day away, which means this war will be the last with Lvl 3 Giants (thank god) and Mortar and Army Camp will be done by tomorrow too.

You dont know how much i wish Supercell reverted the change where you can upgrade Lvl 6 and up walls with Elixir. Yes it used to be 6, and now its 9. I hate that, but whatever.
Anyways... Upcoming upgrades should be Wall-Breaker Lvl 4, More Walls, Cannons, and Storages.

By the way, im planning to make strategy guides for some troops in the game (if it gets popular though im doing all of them), so stay tuned for that!

Happy Kids Day bois!

Happy Kids (or Children) day! I or you might just be a Teenager or something (lmao im 15 and 5 months old so far), but WHO FUCKING CARES! Treat yourself nicely even if you are 1,000 yrs old. We all have a kid inside :)
Anyways ill just share this gem i made. Use it if you want lmao.

No im serious fuck acting like an adult. That shit is boring (unless its a serious situation, which thankfully doesnt happen often).
Have Fun!

COC: Road to Town Hall 8! Part 2: The Dark (dank)ening (Day 9)

Lets talk Dark elixir, shall we?
The picture above is from yesterday night. Finally finished all the Lvl 7 walls around my Dank Elixir Storage, so now its extra protected, and gonna begin with the walls at the Town Hall and King Altar. Finished another Lab upgrade: Archers Lvl 4, and began to get Giants Lvl 4.

Now heres a pic from today
Cool eh? Dank Elixir Storage is now at Lvl 2, which means i can finally save up for King Lvl 4, and with the Dank Elixir drill at Lvl 2, i can get Dank Elixir at a good pace.
Let me tell ya something: Put the Dank Elixir drill as a good priority to max, if not at least get it to Lvl 2, as with the time you are gonna spend in TH7, it can generate quite a bit of Dank Elixir. Dont forget about it. Its REALLY useful, as it can earn you about 500-700 at the Lvl 2 mark, and 350-550 at Lvl 1. With the weeks and days you have to wait for Upgrades and stuff, you can earn quite a bit.

Getting my new Barrack upgraded too, so i can train troops faster. As soon as it reaches Lvl 8, im starting to upgrade ALL of them to unlock Dragons. Cant wait :)
Soon gonna begin upgrading old buildings, starting with the Cannons, since those take 2 days, in comparison to the Archer Towers, taking 3 days, and Air Defenses, taking 3 and 5 days respectively (on Lvls 3 and 5)
Dark Barracks are on the end of the list, alongside mostly everything else. Doing good progress so far.

COC: Road to Town Hall 8! Part 1: The Days before and humble beginnings (Day uh... 8?)

Alrighty some explaining to do
I got fucking busy with alot of stuff, hence why i couldnt finish the last days of Road to TH7, so im quickly going to explain what happened.
Upgraded all walls to max. Got Air Defenses to max level too. Got a book of building, and used it on the Town Hall. GG.

My journey began on April 21st. Heres my town hall on that day.
I called one side "The Poor side" due to the walls, and mediocre level 1 defenses. The other side is the "Rich" or "Cool dood" side due to the better defenses. No king at that moment...
Until i got the Town Hall value pack.
Goddamn i got ripped off. The description of the pack said it gave a Lvl 3 Tesla, but it was Lvl 1. What a rip-off. However the King, Dark (or DANK elixir as i will call it from here on) Elixir and Gold made up for it. Guess the pack was much pricier before but got "nerfed".

Alrighty, so with Gold flowing thru my pockets, and a King on my side, i decided to dump alot of Gold into walls. Most of them got to Lvl 6, with a few still at Lvl 5. With grinding and farming i managed to get all the Walls to Lvl 6, and put one of my builders to upgrade the King to Lvl 3. Really great start.

Along the way i upgraded the new defensive structures to better levels. Heres a tip: Always upgrade newer buildings 1st. They provide quick dmg boosts and help to keep your village more protected than upgrading old buildings, plus its cheaper!

May i talk about how good it feels to have a new army camp? God having about 200 troops to use is great. Anyways as soon as i began TH7 i started the Lab upgrade and started to upgrade the new Army Camp and Barracks.

Anyways lets move on to today. You are about to see a way different village right now.
Jesus this looks WAY different. Lemme explain.
I had troubles thinking of a good TH7 village and base design. I wanted to protect my Gold and Elixir, but also was worried of protecting my Dank Elixir. In the end, i felt getting Dank Elixir protected was better, and thus this design stuck.
I love how the flags can fit inside the Dank Elixir compartment. It looks really good.
Starting to get Lvl 7 walls. 200k for each is a steep price, but its nothing compared to later THs (trust me you will be surprised how much these damn things cost later on). Will probably not get all of them to Lvl 7, and might get half or 3/4 of them to Lvl 7, and keep the others at Lvl 6. Idk. We will see how that goes.

Also yes, i dropped in trophies. Getting loot is harder when you are higher in trophies, so im staying at around 1200-1300 trophies.

SO... Now what.
Well im gonna continue researching, and upgrading Army Camps and Barracks. Will also upgrade defenses and Teslas (GOD I HATE UPGRADING TESLAS but its worth it). Will upgrade the King whenever possible.
Also its technically my 8th day of TH7, so im just gonna continue from Day 8 and continue from here. Ok?
Cant wait to continue with you all :)

4/27/18

So... What´s up with Retro?

Okay im gonna catch up on most of the Retro news. Lets begin because theres quite a bit of explaining to do.
To begin: Sneak Peek Weekend is still happening, but some bugs presented their face and are currently delaying it. While many of them arent too dangerous, and have been fixed, one of them is currently delaying the sneak peek weekend.

Lemme explain: This bug makes monsters get stuck on the world, making them unable to move or respawn. One forum user explained it like this:

The bug is a long standing one involving mobs. Mobs can sometimes randomly get stuck when they are in the return home state, meaning they followed you for awhile and gave up, so they quickly run back to where they are suppose to be.

Again, they get stuck in that state, stop in their tracks, invincible, and basically make it so a mob cannot spawn anymore (as it cannot be killed to trigger the spawning of the mob)

So yeah... Mobs cant respawn. The devs have been trying to fix it so far, and we just hope they can fix it soon.

And of course, with the lack of Weekly Devblogs and little communication from devs (directly from a devblog and not from a random/bug forum thread), alot of newer users and people are getting mad or desperate to play... Which leads to misconceptions, arguments and more.

So yeah... Now we are just waiting for that bug to be fixed. I just hope the devs can make a devblog or an announcement regarding the bug so that more people can know about it and stop complaining about the release.

Where have i been

So with RETRO having little news, same with Legacy (ONE YEAR SINCE THE LAST DEVBLOG FOR LEGACY HOLY SHIT) i havent had much to talk about, and with my Clash series it has gotten a bit boring, and i got busy on exams this and last week.

Case ya wondering: Finally reached TH7 Hurray
So... Now what
Well... Im gonna try to do some Clash stuff, and alongside that some more of my opinion/idea based posts, like the Collect-a-thon post and others. Just stuff that interest me.
Expect some top lists, opinion posts, and even Club Penguin Rewritten stuff (since it is now back)!
All this while the RETRO drought ends. Trust me it shouldnt last long. I give it till Summer to end.

See you all soon.

Beware the 13th...

Muahaha!
Happy Friday the 13th everyone!
Just dropping by for a quick update on the monster kingdom. Its going really well!
Recently, the Pumpking took over as leader and king, and he will find some way to get us out into the surface (wait wasnt this done as some plot in some game?)
Anyways, good luck (or bad luck) everyone! See you all in 6 more months.

COC: Road to Town Hall 7! Day 9

Alright so i ended up skipping the past 3 days, and thats because of school. Sorry for that.
Anyways im gonna do a brief on all the past days.

So got a bunch of walls upgraded, and also got all my cannons to Lvl 7. Starting to upgrade my Archer Towers to Lvl 7 too. Air Defense is almost done, and army camps are done too.

Started to upgrade a barrack too, since Healers are very powerful. Just waiting on the Lab upgrades to be done so i can spend all my Elixir!

One thing i decided to do today is compile most of my TH6 attacks and defenses into one video. You may have seen it already, but here it is if you havent.

Why no Road to Town Hall 7?

Reason: Been really busy with school.
Got a new math teacher who gives us homework everyday, and also hates me and my whole group.
Have been playing COC recently, and been making good progress (good wall and defense progress, alongside Lab), so im not dry on stuff and progress, but i have had little time to make a progress post. Will make one today about all the last few days.

Same applies to the FusionFall posts. Will make more soon as well.
Wish me luck, and hope you all have good luck too!

COC: Road to TH7 Day 5 and 6

Alright 2 days in one go. Lets do this.
Day 5
Really good loot wise!
Dang man ill admit getting loot has been easy so far. Real good when you use all barbs.
Thanks to the loot i managed to get my next army camp upgraded and also get a lot of walls upgraded. Also began upgrading the Wizard Tower to Lvl 2. Will soon begin upgrading things like cannons.
You might notice i got some new decors. They are just there to give some nice looks to the village. Arent focusing much on the gold ones since its 100,000 per flag, but still. Might place some once all walls and gold upgrades are complete.

Day 6
Now we get to today, and the loot doesnt stop coming.
Its great, but during the morning i couldnt enter the game because of maintainance, so i had to wait till i got back from school to grab resources from the collectors. Luckily i didnt get raided.
Got a few more purple walls, and will get more once a cannon upgrade is finished (or the mortar). One of the army camps is finally done and started to upgrade my wizards to Lvl 3. Might switch my War strat to Balloons and Archers later, but for now this will do.
Also got the 2 of my collectors to Lvl 5, so they can be boosted too. Might boost one day when im off from school (like saturday or sunday).
Here: Have your daily (or semi-daily) attack.
The 1st one shows that you need to add new structures, while the 2nd shows the power of the healing spell.

Apologies :P

Reason i didnt make a Post yesterday was because i got a huge headache and was really tired. Sorry for that everyone!
Will make today a Double day post. See yall soon.

COC: Road to Town Hall 7! Day 4

Dang this day was full of surprises and it was great.
Lets begin with the newest of our upgrades: The Elixir Storages. 2,000,000 Elixir that can be stored. Really good and will be helpful for the long road.
Began upgrading my Gold Storages ASAP, and got another Camp on upgrade process too.
Also began to upgrade my Giant to Lvl 3, so thats great. Healing Spell is done too, so im gonna use that for my next war (which is extremely soon. 30 mins from posting here)
My main strategy for War is this one. Use it if you want. I use 2 Healing Spells for the Giants too.
The big highlight of today is the loot. Dear me i got enough to cover all of my Town Hall around with Purple Walls! Alongside that i got a bunch of Elixir, which was used for the Lab and the Camp.

But with something great comes something bad, and of course Aerial attacks are still my weakness...
Main reason i lost was because of my clan troops, which were 3 balloons and a few archers. I now tell my clan to not give me Balloons unless its a war. I got Wizards and a Valk there now.

Will wait till tomorrow to upgrade more walls with my excess gold, and then ill think of what to upgrade next.

Are we on another "Collect-a-thon" era/age?

Collect-a-thon means collecting alot of things, and naturally with a bunch of things this will appear. Ive seen hundreds of different toys that are "collect-a-thon" recently that i think its worth talking about, as im a big collector myself, not just for toys, but for rare items or virtual items.

So then: Are we on another Collect-a-thon era?
Now theres been hundreds of these in the past. From trading cards, to toys, to even rocks. There have been and will always be a thing when theres multiple of a thing or different things for one or various objects.
For example: In Team Fortress 2, some hats can be painted to give them a unique look, so someone (like me for example) could start collecting the painted versions for himself. The same can be applied to a large range of things.

In this post, ill be talking about toys, since its the most prominent collect-a-thon ive seen recently. Im gonna start with this: Does anybody remember Mighty Beanz?
Image result for Mighty Beanz
These little guys were big back around 2010 to i think 2014/2015. Mighty Beanz were shaped like beans, but had a metallic ball inside which gave them weight, and had various designs. Of course instantly from that you were given the choice to start collecting them all. Every pack even came with a booklet of how to play and all of the beanz that existed during the series.

Series´ are another point worth mentioning. Every series had its own beanz and limited run (around 5 to 6 months, tops for each series), so once the packs for that series were out, good luck getting them!

Another example are U.B Funkeys!
Related image
U.B Funkeys had various characters and each of them had 3 variations: Normal, Rare and Very Rare, so its obvious that the collect-a-thon was there from the beginning, but by collecting the rarer versions you could obtain more coins and new, exclusive items from their respective shops. It gave a reward for those who were collectors.

Just like Mighty Beanz, U.B Funkeys had its own series´ as well, with its own Funkeys, so it just added to the collectability of the little guys.

But lets get to more recent examples shall we?
Shopkinz was the main one that made me spark interest in this topic. Shopkinz are little figures designed after grocery items, like mall bags, shampoo etc. They were even designed after food! Of course you can already see how collectability applies here.
Image result for Shopkinz
Taking a closer look, Shopkins dont really have much purpose outside of Collecting, which is okay, as that is what they were made for. What makes it a little less special is that... Well thats all really. Just collect them.
U.B Funkeys and Mighty Beans have the ability to be used to either play recommended games, or use them in a virtual game. Shopkinz doesnt really have that unless you count roleplay.

Probably one of the best examples of Collect-a-thon objects would be The Pokemon TCG (or Trading Card Game).
Image result for pokemon cards
Man Trading Cards have always been the 1st ever Collect-a-thon to come to mind right? Thats because of their name: Trading Cards. Collect them, and trade them. Get them all! It was simple, but fun.

The Pokemon TCG on the other hand takes this to a whole new level. Yes you can trade or collect them, but they can also be used to play the Trading Card Game. Every Booster Pack (sealed packs that contain cards) contains a code which can be used in the Online version of the game, which unlocks a Booster Pack in the game. Not only you get IRL cards, which can be used to play, trade or collect, but you also get virtual cards. A win-win.

I seriously recommend you look up more about the Pokemon TCG, more specifically its Tournament scene and just its awesome decks. I really love it.

There are hundreds of examples i could go on, but you get the idea by now. Collect-a-thons existed then, and they exist now, and will probably exist forever.
Is it good? Yes, because it allows people to have a goal they want to reach. Whether its a complete collection, or having a good deck or their favorite figures or characters, theres something for everybody in Collect-a-thons.
Conclusion: Yes, we are on another collect-a-thon age, with more figurines than cards, but its a good one for sure.

COC: Road to Town Hall 7! Day 3

Good progress here. Cant be dissapointed at all with today.
So today started great. Lab is done and just waiting for the Lighting upgrade to be completed. Gonna begin with Giant Lvl 3, and go from there. Also began to upgrade Elixir Storages so i can get more Elixir for my upgrades, and began to upgrade one Army Camp.

God i hate these Army Camps. 750k Elixir for 5 more troops, and 3 days of waiting. I HATE it, but we still need to do it.

Havent gotten attacked so far, which is guess is because i dont have much loot, and the few i have is hard to reach.
Ik some people will ask, so i will tell: Why is your base designed like it is? Simple: Its a farming base.
Now now now, i know that back then Farming Bases used the Town Hall to give you free shields 24/7. I used them before. I loved them, you loved them. But now it doesnt give you a Shield, so now i have to use a setup like this, with Storages being the priority to protect rather than the Town Hall. I have weirdly seen many bases with THs outside, so i just snipe it and begone. I honestly wish i could still use an old Farm base, but that would probably make me lose alot of trophies, unless i put the TH near defenses (AKA not in the corner of the village).

Anyways, i got alot of loot from raiding today, which helped me get another row of Purple Walls. Heres a tip for bases like mine: Upgrade the walls around the TH 1st, and the ones outside last. Start with what you think is the weakest area in the village, and end with the strongest area.

Heres an attack i did. Try to aim for 200k of each resource and you should be great. Enjoy and see you all tomorrow!

4/5/18

COC: Road to Town Hall 7! Day 2

Great day overall.
Now for the long part lol

So with my shield gone i can start raiding again, and boy did i get into raiding. Got around 800k gold and 600k Elixir, which was enough to start my Lab upgrade.
Most new buildings are finally complete. Got 4 more Purple Walls (steady progress there) and starting to upgrade my other stuff.

Currently upgrading the air defense, and upgrades for the Clan Castle are almost done. Also began upgrading the Spell Factory for the Healing Spell. You can also see i got lucky and i got a Gem Box spawn! Will get it after my builder is done with the clan castle.

Speaking of my village, i also wanted to show one of my defenses i got recently. Heres the video. Enjoy! Also shows the power of Clan Castle Troops.

Anyways. Yesterday i talked about that we were on a war, and well today it began. Team took most of the easy ones so i had to fight TH7s that were alot more prepared. While i was a bit angry i still can get a ton of loot if we win, which as of now looks possible.
Got around 160,000 of each on the castle thanks to the Star Bonus (thank you Supercell for adding that), and more to come! I cant wait.
In case you are asking, i used Wizards, Giants and Archers. 10 Giants, 10 Wizards, and the rest Archers. Might switch strats later however.
To upgrade list: Both new mines (to Lvl 4 at least), new buildings, lab upgrades.

4/4/18

COC: Road to Town Hall 7! Day 1

The 1st day. Its generally the hardest day, as you are confronted with various upgrades and new buildings. Its... hard to say the least.
So as you can see my lab is A) Not getting upgraded and B) Has an upgrade in progress. This is because i managed to get my hands on enough Elixir to start its upgrade! As soon as i get my hands on enough Elixir im upgrading it. I also got the money (irl money) offer from TH6, giving me enough Gold to obtain Lvl 5 on my new walls, as well as the 500 gems and Air Sweeper. Just bought it for the Gold and i was gonna buy 500 gems so getting the offer was worth it.

Also got 5 Purple walls to start. Definitely want to get all Purple (Lvl 6 walls) before going to TH7. Might be the only TH level where ill max out my walls before upgrading to the next TH. Maybe not tho, since it can take sometime (75,000 Gold a piece)

As for what my Builders are doing: Just building the new towers. Rearranged my base as well. Afterwards im gonna try to upgrade them in the meanwhile, as well as upgrading the Giant Bomb, Laboratory, Spell Factory, and Army Camps.

The main reason i went for the new buildings 1st is because im currently gonna go on war, so having the extra towers and a new base is great.

Because i have little loot, i might not get attacked easily, but still. There are many that simply attack lower THs for trophy pushing, so that might happen while i go to sleep. Either way i can recover easily from a raid, since i always try to get more loot than it gets stolen.

Forgot to mention the Clan Castle as well. Upgrading it for the extra space and for extra treasury space. Will be helpful if i get more War loot.

Overall a strong start. Will start raiding tomorrow and continue to upgrade buildings.

The FusionFall Blog special: COC: Road to Town Hall 7 Day 0

"Plants loves to play Clash Of Clans, so now hes documenting his journey from Town Hall 6 to Town Hall 7! Wish him luck!"

Oh boy... Town Hall 6.
Honestly im scared of this level. Ive heard that its the hardest when it comes to maintaining resources and trophies, since you get attacked often by Town Hall 7s, which have a lot more troops and ways to produce them than you. Its sad, but ill have to deal with that.

I was an idiot and collected 300,000+ from my Clan Castle, and now my Mines are super full. Gold will be my priority when i get to TH6, and with new walls ill have plenty to spend my gold there.

All defenses, towers, army camps, and barracks are maxed. Laboratory upgrades are ALMOST done, since i forgot Lvl 4 Lighting, but i dont mind. Will upgrade Troops 1st and then at the end upgrade my Lighting and (soon to get) Healing Spell.

Since i was stupid and didnt want my loot to be raided, i bought a 2 day shield for the time being. Now just waiting for the shield to end so i can raid, and use my gold and Elixir on something useful.

2 builders available, and 1 more to become available as soon as TH6 is done, and 1 more after an Elixir Pump is done. Will put 2 of them on new buildings and 1 on upgrading the Lab. The last one will worry about the Spell Factory so i can get my hands on the Healing Spell.

Alternatively, i can put all of the builders on new buildings, but the Lab is more important since upgrading troops is crucial for wars and raiding. My priorities will be Giant, Wall Breaker, Wizard and finally Balloon. Might get Healing Spell leveled earlier however.

After all that ill get on upgrading the Army Camps. The increase is minimal (only 15 for each), but considering all the resources ill be getting from War and Raiding i should be fine. Clan Castle, Storages and finally everything else. This will be interesting to say the least.

Club Penguin Rewritten is back?! Plus other stuff

YES YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY
So uh... Yeah. Im just shocked.
Lets just hope it doesnt end like last time.

So since ive been doing other stuff aside from FusionFall, i decided to run a poll this week: Should i start posting (albeit not everyday) stuff about Club Penguin or other stuff that interests me? For example: Ive recently began playing Clash Of Clans, and about to reach Town Hall Level 6, so i can do a Daily diary on my journey thru TH6, or when CPR releases a new party i could do a small review on it. It wont be everyday, but it would put variety on the blogs content.

Also, you may have noticed i didnt make a Item Showcase yesterday. I forgot! Will post it today alongside FusionFall 101 (and maybe the 1st part of my TH6 journey)

Stay safe, and have an awesome Wednesday my dudes!
