Support the Split! Dont Panic! Part 2 (With Photos)
Don't.
For those who think that the community won't survive without the assistance of Dex7322?
Don't.
For those who think FusionFall will never be the same again because of this progressive leap?
Don't.
Okay? Those who are sporting what I would call #StrikeTheSplit, you guys actually have NO idea how beneficial the split actually is. YES!... It sucks that a majority to basically all of our content will be kaput (which is basically the ONLY reason why I don't like the split), but... the benefits that we're gonna get because of it is going to be unbelievable.
The Devs. and Dex7322 did not see eye to eye with how certain things have been getting done particularly, which is the main reason why there's going to be a split, but to my knowledge, their desire to revive and bring Retro AND Legacy into fruition hasn't waivered one bit. In fact, I can assure all of you that because of the split... Content and Devblogs will come at a much more efficient rate, and even the release of FusionFall Retro itself.
Whatever was holding the Developers back originally, whether it be one or the other, they're resolving it in the most reasonable way they can without causing chaos. The rest of the Devs. have planned one thing, whereas Dex7322 will have his own Modulator Network site for people to equally join and be a part of as much as they'd be with what the rest of the Devs. have. And what is the one thing that, whatever bad blood that may be between 'em regardless, they both have in common?
BRINGING THE FUSIONFALL UNIVERSE BACK TO LIFE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
So for all you trolls, and those who think it's the end of the world, or even those saying that the Devs. can't survive without Dex7322 leading the way, just stop. It's ridiculous. The Devs. and Dex are not taking advantage of each other in or with with any malicious intent. Whatever dispute they've come across with each other that has caused the split, has been for good reason and although I'm sure they both regret this decision, they're progressing down their own paths to make ALL of us happy.
I, personally, #SupportTheSplit because in the long run, I know for a fact that it will lead to all of our satisfactions, and any bad blood in between can be settled reasonably and respectably.
Dex7322 is an amazing human being, regardless. Wilttilt, Dogon McBanana, Tech TheNoob, Zane Wolfsirens, Panman14, womayhem, Przzyfied, and the rest of the Developers who have worked so hard and done such amazing things to revive our dream in playing in a universe that has open arms to us all, are amazing people.
Get over it and stop being so butthurt. Whatever content you feel is worth saving for the split, save it, 'cause that's what I'm doing it. Don't believe any of this will be beneficial? Watch.
PROGRESS. WILL SPEAK. VOLUME.

Support The Split! No Need To Panic!
Ladies and Gentlemen, no need to panic!

As I see things when it comes to the split, this is a genesis and a bright new future. With the forums, game data, and users being wiped, we'll be able to recreate everything just fine. Old and dead topics will all be deleted, making room on-server for better conversations and higher quality posts.
More importantly though, the greatest reason to support this split is the that with the new website, we will be receiving more developer blogs! That's right, with what'll likely mean no upload limitations for the developers, this means that updates will likely be more regular and the developers won't have the need of asking for any modifications to the website, for new PHP scripts for use with Fusionfall, etc.
This is a new hope, and Kermit will lead us through these rough transitional times.
...
I know what you're thinking. "KERMIT? WHY!?!" I'll diddly darn show you why.

Kermit's great for the job! He's both serious enough to be taken seriously and he's a great meme, too!
Go Kermit, go!

In case you didn't catch what was said before, the split means more developer blogs, more game updates, and more freedom! I firmly believe that the new website will be better if not only equal to the current experience on ModNet!

UPDATE 26/04/2016: In regards to the whole "more content" stuff, the team plans to keep with our current schedule of "devblogs whenever we have the time". HOWEVER, we also plan to most a series of mini-devblogs semi-weekly that showcase one or two small details or specific things we're particularly proud of. Combine that with the return of Pic of the Day and other misc. news articles and you've got yourself a good time.
On the new sites, the Developer's Blog & Pic of the Day will be found integrated directly in to the home page of the FusionFall Legacy website instead of buried within the forums.
Overall, the team has plans in place to ensure that the amount and rate of information you all get about the game will increase a fair bit when the new systems are in place.
side note: our campaign administrator has made sure that weaslewords were used. pretend that said words are not in this postNOTE: BEFORE READING THIS THREAD, PLEASE HAVE THE COURTESY TO CLICK THE "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN" HEADER

Devblog Entry 023: Girl Power!
Hey
guys! Wilttilt here with a brand new devblog! We're shaking things up a
bit, and from now on devblogs are going to focus more on the technical
aspects of the development process. We'll be showing off the latest from
the cutting room floor with exclusive reveals, behind the scenes sneak
peeks, and other cool bits and bobs! First off, we're going to take a
look at the progress we've made with the female player.
One
of the big reasons we were unsure about including females in the demo
is because they actually have quite a bit more work put into them than
the male player characters! Objects like skirts and long hair have
special bones that require extra attention and animations to make sure
they look as accurate as they can possibly be. Luckily, thanks to recent
developments, we've made great strides in both production and our
workflow. In fact, we've been moving so fast that the recently released
demo trailer is already outdated! We can't wait for you to see the
updated male player animations when the demo launches! It's safe to say
that both the female and male player characters will be as awesome as
they can possibly be just in time for the demo!
In a game like FusionFall Legacy, there tend to be a lot of moving parts. In order to make them all work as they should, a process called "rigging" is required. To put it simply, rigging is like attaching parts of your body to your skeleton. The bones move the skin. Here's a quick gif of myself finishing up the rig of a female shirt.
After that, we import the model into Unity where we apply the texture, give it the proper shader, and get it set up to work as an item in FusionFall would. All items share the same rig, so when we put them all together, we get a full player character! Check it out!
The
next step towards having a living, breathing, player character is
animation! And as it turns out, that's hefty load! In the original game,
the male and female player had about 230 animations each! These were
just a few of our favorites so far! The combat animations have also seen
a revamp since the trailer. Check out the punching animation below!
Speaking
of animations, check out some of the animations we've equipped our
Nanos with! Eddy, Eduardo, Blossom, and Chowder most likely won't be
appearing in the demo. They may look pretty awesome, but there is still a
ton of work left to be done. Don't worry, you'll be able to get your
hands on them when the full game launches.

Did you know that the FusionFall Legacy player rig has nearly 70 bones?

Devblog Entry 022: A Quick Announcement!
Hello everyone, Wilttilt here with a quick announcement! The team is
hard at work putting some of the final touches on the FusionFall Legacy
Demo! As a result, we will not be posting devblogs on a regular basis
over the next few weeks. That also means that the game will be ready to
play pretty soon! We thank you for your patience as always.
Speaking of the Demo, we're ready to announce the full nano lineup! You guys all voted, and Samurai Jack has been added to the selection of nanos available in the demo! As we've stated many times before, the FusionFall Legacy Demo will be a standalone single-player experience that differs from the main game. You'll be able to get a taste of three very different nanos at launch, including Samurai Jack and Numbuh Two. (We're leaving the third one a surprise!). Nano Way Big will be added to the demo in a later update, which we announced at the end of the Demo Nano Faceoff.

Devblog Entry 021: Livin' Like Larry
Hello everyone! Dogon here once again, bringing you some news on a brand new character joining the FusionFall Legacy cast!
Meet Larry 3000! While you won't be seeing him in the game for quite some time, I felt now was as good of a time as any to go into detail about Larry's role in the FusionFall Legacy universe!
Originally a diplomat, Larry is capable of speaking every known language and is programmed in both etiquette and culture. Unfortunately for him, in the far far future, all Earth governments merged into one super-nation, putting Larry out of a job. Larry now serves as a member of Time Squad, an organization dedicated to fixing any errors that may occur in history as time unravels. He, along with Buck Tuddrussel and Otto Osworth, travel through time fixing the past so that the future stays the same.
One day as Time Squad was preparing for a mission, something went horribly wrong! Larry, Buck, and Otto, along with their entire satellite, were transported to our time period, right in the middle of Fuse's invasion! Quickly being attacked by Planet Fusion's defenses, the three ran to the nearest escape pods and abandoned their home. Larry crashed down in Goat's Junkyard, where he quickly recuperated and began searching for Buck and Otto.
Larry has limited contact with Buck Tuddrussel, who says he's somewhere dark and dangerous. Larry is unable to reach Otto with his communicator, and fears the worst. He quickly becomes friends with Coop, who offers to help search for the missing Time Squad members. Because Larry was never programmed with much history knowledge, (and Buck really isn't any help), he has little understanding about the time period he's stranded in.
We originally based Larry's design off of his head's appearance in the original game as a quest item. Since then, we've changed up the colors up a bit to be more accurate.

A couple of Larry's idle animations.
We've created a desktop background featuring Larry 3000, which you can get right here!
But wait... what's this?
Nano Larry 3000!
It looks like a Nano Larry 3000 has been developed, thanks to the Nano Enhancement Project! Nano Larry 3000 will not be available until the full game launches some time after the demo is released, but when it does, you'll be able to earn your very own Nano Larry 3000 somewhere around level 12. We'll have more details on the Nano system as well as even more all new nanos in the very near future!
Until then, see you all next time!
