Splitting into separate entities?
Due to conflict of interest
between the currently affiliated Modulator Network and FusionFall Legacy
Development Group, ModNet is soon cutting off any and all direct ties
with the FusionFall Legacy project.
What will result from this?
All account information belongs
to the Modulator Network, and therefore, as a result of the upcoming
changes, no account information or related information such as posts and
character data are being transferred to the new host of the FusionFall
Legacy project.
An initial proposal on behalf of
ModNet stated that account information could be transfered in a legal
fashion if the user would be prompted upon next login within 90 days of
the split to transfer credentials and data from ModNet to FFL's new
host. The user would have to check a box, agreeing to a list of terms
and understand that ModNet is not going to be responsible for the
transferred information anymore. This proposal was respectfully denied
by FFL for the sake of simplicity for a younger audience to just
register a new account and agree to a new set of terms right from the
get-go to prevent any more confusion.
UPDATE 25/04/2016: Fortunately, on the evening of April 25, 2016, a new agreement was
reached to allow for the FusionFall Legacy team to utilize a ModNet API
that will allow them to prevent a valued username from being stolen
under malicious intent to impersonate. In other words, if you registered
for an account here on the Modulator Network before the split occurs,
and you wish to keep your username, you may do so by registering using
the same e-mail address you used on ModNet upon registering on FFL's new
website in order to maintain possession of your desired username.
What about the promised hat item that I should have gotten for preregistering a character for the demo?
One of the most unfortunate
drawbacks from this is that players will lose their preregistered
character and their authenticity of having earned the promised mission
cap that was revealed last September. Both parties are truly sorry for
the inconvenience.
When is this taking place?
An official date has yet to be
decided, as the FusionFall Legacy team is first getting a new website
and set of forums ready. Once construction nears completion, we'll be
sure to update this for you all.
Will www.FusionFallLegacy.com still be FusionFall Legacy's website?
Yes, but the domain will continue
to be pointed to the Modulator Network until some short time after the
split officially happens. Stay tuned.
Will the same social media handles be used?
Yes. The current YouTube channel,
Google+ page, Facebook page, and Twitter feed will continue to be the
official social media outlets for FusionFall Legacy.
What will be left to do on ModNet?
Once the split occurs, there will
be no way to sign into the Modulator Network. Keep in mind that this is
a temporary shutdown, and all of your account data is being held onto
for when ModNet's main site opens or when a new ModNet subsite launches.
If you would like to continue to follow up on plans for new ModNet
projects or for a possible relaunch of the Fusion Modulation
Headquarters, stay tuned to www.ModulatorNetwork.com.
Will this affect the developmental progress on FusionFall Legacy and FusionFall Retro?
Noooope! The FusionFall
Legacy/Retro team has plenty of bodies addressing this affiliation split
and plenty others still working on both games! Don't worry!
